I keep seeing the ad for ‘RudeTube’, a programme due to air tonight on E4 about various (in)famous videos on the internet, but hadn’t got a clue what the end clip was until I googled ‘weightless dog’ and found this:

But I have been cheered up - apparently according to a random report I heard on the radio this morning they have signed a big deal in the US of A to allow their music to be used in a brand new tv show (name unknown to me at least) and, interestingly enough, a Gerard Depardieu film.

Google is not being my friend today and I can’t find any solid information on this. I was half asleep when I heard the report so maybe I just made it all up…

But I didn’t, yay for them!

I’ve never been tagged in my life before, and now it’s happened to me twice in one week by Delectable Darragh and Lovely Lynnie (yes I am a giant cheesebag of alliteration). You people are so good to me <3

So apparently I have to describe myself in 6 words…

Darragh did it all in one sentence and Lynnie listed her words individually. I think I’ll go with the list - brain can’t sentence put together.

and neglected my blog for the past few days. It’s the sunny weather I tells ya, I can’t stay in.

This is what I’m usually like though:

Yesterday whilst dining in the canteen in work, somebody sent me a video through Bluetooth. This random person came up on my phone as Brian Ormond but surprisingly enough (not), when I looked around there was no Brian Ormond in sight. Despite this, I pressed accept on my phone just for the craic. The video was called ‘exercise!’ so I thought someone might be trying to motivate me and pushed my chicken and roast spuds across the table and pressed play.

Could whoever sent me that video could please send me the ‘exercise’ machine too please? I’ll be dropping the pounds no bother.

Man accused of forcing toddler to smoke marijuana

This is so unbelievably disturbing.

The guy filmed himself forcing an 18 month old child to smoke pot and then sold his video camera to a pawnshop. The pawnshop found the tape in the camera and thankfully turned it over to the police.

There is a news report online which shows the baby smoking but it’s extremely disturbing.

Sick, sick world.

 A pair of elderly ladies in the US of A have been convicted of murdering two homeless men to collect $2.8m in life assurance.

“Helen Golay, 77, and Olga Rutterschmidt, 75, befriended the men from around Los Angeles, put them up in flats and took out insurance policies. The two men were then drugged and killed in staged road accidents. Golay drugged her victims before driving a car over their bodies. “

In the news this week:

I finally bought the boxset of Band of Brothers yesterday. I don’t know what took me so long having watched the series on tv and completely falling in love with it.

Everytime I see it, I’m amazed at the production values, especially for a tv series. The muted colours, the crisp dialogue, the excellent casting and acting - everything adds to this amazing programme, made even more brilliant and incomprehensable by the fact that it’s based on truth. I still gasp each time a soldier dies. 

I’ve also just finished re-reading Anne Frank’s diary after visiting the ‘Secret Annexe’ in Holland and staying in the WW2 theme, next on the list is The Book Thief. After that it’s probably time to read/watch something I haven’t already devoured seeing as there’s nearly a gazillion books and films on my list to get that I will never ever catch up on.  But it’s fun trying.

Just back from a lovely long weekend in the Netherlands. Stayed two nights in Groningen up North and then went down to Amsterdam on Sunday night. Sure the craic was only mighty.

What a great country. The Dutch are so friendly and laid back. And their food is AMAZING, I’m now completely addicted krokets (pic above) but you can’t get them here :(   Also had profertjes* (teeny tiny pancakes) and frites met mayo (chips with yummy mayonaise). I’d probably be about 10 stone heavier after the weekend only for the fact we cycled everywhere round Groningen. Drunken cycling at 5 in the morning = fun!

*EDIT: I’ve been spelling ‘poffertjes’ completely wrong. Sowwi!

Everything in Groningen was reeeally cheap (happy days) but Amsterdam, typically, was a lot dearer. I wouldn’t have spent much money at all had we stayed the full three days in Groningen. Still it was nice to visit Amsterdam and go see all the touristy things like Anne Frank’s Huis, The House de Bols (drink museum - verrrry cool) and, of course, the Red Light district (but don’t tell the mammy). Even got a few winks from the window ladies (again, don’t tell the mammy).

Oh the film isn’t bad either! I probably would have loved it only I watched it the same day I finally saw Once for the first time and fell head over heels in love with it, and everything else just seems mundane in comparison.

.. but Bertie announced his resignation date an hour ago - 6th May.
