Or so some professor says which is good enough for me anyways.
Apparently, the most depressing day of every year is the third Monday of January or ‘Blue Monday’ i.e. today. And this is because we’ve spent all our money over Christmas, have crap weather and haven’t stuck to our New Years resolutions. All boxes I can tick I’m afraid to say.
What could be related to this is a study that shows that Sunday night’s sleep is the ‘worst sleep’ of the week which would definitely make you a bit grumpy on a Monday morning.
And whatever you do – don’t leave your mobile phone on at night because this will make you sleep even worse! It’s definitely something I’ll have to change as I always sleep with my mobile on. I have no idea why. It’s not that I’m expecting a call or even want anyone to call me at night but still… it’s just that cutting off that link to the outside world. And sometimes drunken late night calls are funny, especially when the other person can’t even remember ringing you. I probably should consider turning it off now though.
EDIT: Apparently everyone knows about Blue Monday. How have I never heard of it before?!
