I’ve been sleeping in later and later these days, ever since I started to drive into work. It’s a dangerous thing being able to leave the house at one’s own leisure. So far though, I’ve managed to make it in on time everyday by bashing round the house frantically, dressing whilst brushing my teeth and putting on make up whilst eating my toast.
Today I decided to get up a bit earlier and give myself a chance to do things at a normal human non-breakneck pace. My shower was warm and leisurely and I savoured the hot water for once. I put actual thought into my outfit for the day, checking carefully for stylish coordination. My new fancy make-up mirror with professional lighting got it’s first ever morning use as I gently applied blusher to my cheeks.
I left the house feeling easy, breezy, and beautiful.
And half an hour late for work.
