A return to blogging?

I always find blogs about blogs the most tedious of sorts but inspired by a recent lack of creativity in my activities, I think I’ve decided to start up the ould blog again. Tentatively. And as with posts of past, there won’t be any theme or logic as to what gets thrown up here, except that it will be things that I like. Or don’t like. Whatevers. I’m also getting married in a year (yaaaaay!) so sooome fluffy wedding shtuff may sneak in, because pinning 4 million pics on Pinterest is just not enough, ya know.

I’m going start things off with a link to my favourite dog on instagram, nay the whole interwebs, right now….

MGMT covering Talking Head’s This Must be the Place back in ’03.

Tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuune ❤

The fact that they covered this song makes me love MGMT so much more. Even after their new bizarre video for Kids.

I haven’t disappeared on purpose or intentionally – stuff is just getting a wee bit in the the way of blogging at the mo, but hopefully, all shall return to normal sporadic blogging soon.

Stuff that got in the way:

– Laptop breaking

– Laptop being fixed but losing internet for no Goddamn reason

– Being sick (nowt serious of course, it just left me in bed for a week)

– Life stuff that I no like blogging about

– The quick dip-in-and-out-edness of Twitter. I’m not an addict by any means, but I do quite like it right now.

Speaking of Le Twit – here are six weird and wonderful (but mainly weird) things people have built with Twitter. Nifty!

This is the funniest video I’ve seen in donkies. Especially when you’re as obsessed as I am with LC and all her cohorts (don’t judge).

K so it’s Friday night and I’m staying in ’cause I’m po’ – don’t judge me. There’s feck all on the tellybox (well until Michael McIntrye delights us all on Jonathon Ross) so right now, I am entertaining myself with a few tunes on the old school PC down in the back room. Man, it’s cold down here; thank God for this vodka.

Anyhoo, it’s probably at least 3 years since this old piece of poo PC was turned on, and hitting shuffle on windows media player is throwing me up some rather enjoyable ‘classics’.

Strolling down memory lane:

All Saints – Never Ever

The Blow Monkeys – You Don’t Own Me (sometime in the 80’s – google not obeying)
By the way, I am so so tempted to link to the Bette Midler/Goldie Hawn/ Diane Keaton version from First Wives Club ……. that I will:

Amerie – 1 Thing (2005)
embedding disabled – (ballsack)

Audio Bullys – We Don’t Care (2003)

Outkast ft Killer Mike – The Whole World (2002)

The Pogues – Rainy Night in Soho – good choice shuffle; GOOD CHOICE! – (1991)

Deepest Blue – Deepest Blue (2004)

Right, I have to stop there before I fill this entire blog with Youtube vidjas. I could go on all night, but I actually started this post 10 hours ago (this computer is so fucking slow) and I have to watch Michael McIntyre on Jonathon Wossy.

Happy Friday Y’all!

This kid looks *exactly* like my next door neighbour did at that age.

*Eggs-act-lee*

Having lived next door to each other for years, we finally became boyfriend and girlfriend. I was just turned eight and he was seven and a quarter. It was the summer of 1991 and school was out – we were young, free and full of the giddy joys of life. Unfortunately, his mum thought I was a bad influence and stopped us in our tracks. She probably thought I was a cradle robbing bitch but really I just liked him for his Nintendo. Suckas.

Come to think of it though… we never officially broke up…. I am a cheating hussy!!

No internet!

I am without internet at the moment. Well obviously not right now seeing as I’m on it as I type this but in general, my internet access has been curtailed due to the unfortunate untimely un-noying death of my laptop charger. *crysies*

I should have seen it coming.

It had been chirping happily away like an orchestra of crickets the past week – normally a healthy sign except for the fact that it had never made any noise before, crickety or otherwise.  The happy noise got louder and louder as it  sucked all the life from my laptop until finally I was left with the black screen of death.  Balls.

My lovely new LG Renoir has wifi and lots of fancy gadgetry type things but it’s just not the same. I need at least a 14 inch screen before I can contemplate browsing the internet properly. Two and half inches is far too fiddly. And Heat World won’t load properly on my mobile screen which means I’m properly fecked in terms of gossip. What will I talk to my friends about now?!

I’m marching into Dundrum tomorrow to demand a new charger for free or else.

Or else, I’ll give them the money for a new one.  Double balls 😦

Two tunes on repeat for me today:

Kanye West – Love Lockdown mash-up.

And

MGMT – Electric Feel (Justice remix)

Will I ever get sick of that song?!

Snow. SNOW! Yaaaaaaaay!

I don’t know why snow makes me so ridiculously excited but it does. I probably haven’t seen proper snow since the 90’s and it makes me feel like I’m nine years old again. A nine year old with a desk job however.

It’s a nice start to the week though, especially after such a fun-packed weekend. Went to see the Bodies Exhibition on Saturday which was very interesting indeed. I couldn’t quite take in that I was looking at actual corpses – they looked almost plastic to me – but it was fascitinating stuff really. The place was a bit too jammed for my liking though so by the end my inner grump won out so I left and headed up to the coffee area ‘up inside upstairs’ (seriously, the sign says that on one of the main doors – how Irish is that?!). Mr Darragh Doyle has a great post on it here with a lot more detail. The exhibition that is, not the weird coffee sign.

Yesterday morning, myself and himself watched Michael McIntyre: Live at the Apollo. The man is a legend. An absolute legend. I have never laughed so much so early on a Sunday morning. Well apart from Christmas Mass (dodgy folk group ‘singing’).

Lookee here – it’s so true!

Finally, yesterday evening, we managed to get tickets to Slumdog Millionaire in Dundrum. It’s been sold out there every night for aaaages. Unless you got up at four in the morning to book them, you’d be seated practically in the screen but yesterday, we managed to get the last two decent seats. And it was so worth the wait. What a gorgeous, gorgeous film. I am unashamedly jumping on the Slumdog fan bandwagon – I loved it. It’s not perfect of course, but nothing beats walking out of a film with a smile on your face like that.

Right, I’m off to make snow angels. I wish!
