I’m going to the Market Bar this evening to drown my sorrows with beer and chorizo (it may not be possible to drown in chorizo, but I sure will try).
I have no real sorrows officially, I’m just a wee bit tired and getting the winter blues. It’s so grey outside.
On my desk, I have a postcard of Knut, the polar bear from Berlin, when he was cute and cuddly and tussling with a fluffy green blanket. I look at this postcard quite a bit these days. It’s uplifting both in the sense in that he looks so gosh-darn-huggable, and in that I remember the massive outpouring of the public when it was suggested that he be put down. It was only a small polar bear, obviously incomparable to the many issues facing the Irish public right now, but it still makes me smile.

How many fur coats could I get out of him?
Comment by Maxi Cane November 18, 2008 @ 4:08 pmBack then, I’d say you’d only get a cosy pair of slippers out of him.
Now – a Narnia wardrobe full??
